Like no one’s watching.

We are always putting on a show. For our boss, for our co-workers, our family, our friends, our partner. The moment we know someone else is watching, some else is judging, our guards go up and we modify our actions and our behavior just a little bit, to show that we are playing the game. The game of approval. The game of fitting in.

But what do you do when no one is watching? What would you do if no one ever watched you? Would you still work the same hours? Would you work on the same things? Would you work out and lift the same amount of weights? Would you dress and behave the same?

The best way to figure out what you should be doing is to ask yourself if you would still be doing what you’re doing now if no one was watching you. And ask that question a million times a day until eventually, you figure out what is it that you actually want to be doing.
