Permission

We are taught from a young age to sit still and behave. Raise your hands and wait your turn. Move and speak only when permitted. There’s always someone’s approval to seek or someone’s permission to gain before you can do what you want.

Deep down, I believe that seeking someone else’s permission is just you trying to take the easy way out. You’re unsure and you are secretly hoping someone else stops you. Or that the reason you want someone else to permit you to do something is that, if things go wrong, you can blame them. “Hey, he said it was ok for me to do this.”

If you believe in yourself and you believe in what you’re doing, then the only permission you need is from yourself. Because the world is changed by people with crazy ideas. And crazy ideas don’t wait for someone else’s permission.
